It was a fry-day on Thanksgiving!

I appreciate every one of you who follows along, messages me, and supports this little news experiment we’re building together. I hope the long weekend gave you some rest, good food, and time with the people you care about.

For years we’ve hosted friends and family here on Tater Peeler. Everyone brings their favorite side, and I’m in charge of the Cajun-fried turkeys. It always turns into a bit of a show: mini-.50 cal, tie-dye, the whole thing.

If you’ve never had a fried turkey, you’re missing out. Moist inside, crispy outside. You can cook a 20-pound bird in about 70 minutes roughly 3Β½ minutes per pound in hot peanut oil.

I’m pretty sure I’ll be doing it again at Christmas.
